Once in a Lifetime
Once in a Lifetime is a made-for-television movie which aired in 1994. It is based on the novel by Danielle Steele and tells the story of a woman who loses her husband and daughter to a fire, only to discover later that she is pregnant. Her son is born deaf, and she must learn to cope with his handicap on her own. She eventually meets (and develops deep feelings for) a doctor who deals with deaf children, and later places her son in his school. She becomes a famous writer and is asked to pen the screenplay for a movie based on one of her books. On location, she meets and falls in love with the star of the movie.
Duncan Regehr plays Justin Wakefield, the handsome, shallow, and arrogant actor starring in the film based on her book. She falls in love with him, but eventually realizes she wants more from the relationship than the self-centered Justin can provide.
