The Newcomers: 1927
The Newcomers - Inhabiting a New Land is a television series that consisted of seven one-hour motion pictures commissioned by Imperial Oil Limited to celebrate its one-hundredth anniversary. It was viewed by millions on the CBC television network. This episode of the series dealt with the influx of Ukranians into Canada during the time of the depression and the hardships they faced.
Duncan Regehr appeared as young Lypa in the episode entitled "1927."
This series is not available commercially as far as I can tell. But there is a book that was printed in 1979 by McClelland and Stewart in Canada that is illustrated with pictures from the series. The pictures contained in this gallery were found in that book.
